The day and night cycle is a recurring feature in the Final Cross Series.It features an ongoing time cycling the day and night, rather than the time of day being strictly controlled by the plot, remaining constant until the player progresses in the story. Typically, each location has different musical themes for different times of day, and the specific location's battle theme may change as well. The effect can be merely visual, but in some games certain tasks and monsters can only be undertaken during a specific time in the cycle.

The day night cycle changes back to day when the player sleeps in cottages/tents or in lounges, the sun rises between 5:00 AM to 7:00 AM and sets between 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM,In the mornings and throughout the day, there is a villagers in the streets of the towns and cities. The people go about their daily jobs until their workday is done.Cities and Towns close shops by 7:00pm at the latest,vendors tend to work till about 7:30 at the latest selling goods. Towns and Cities open there shops around 8:00am. (However: cottages/tent and lounges provide all night services to the player). The day and night cycles and cloud formations are done by physical calculations, the lighting and the shadows changing as the day goes on. At night towns light up, with people turning the lights on in their homes. It was decided to be made this way to have a smooth change between the cycles and to have a more dynamic lighting system, reflecting the mood of a certain region/place.
Animal Day/Night Cycle []
It is considered nighttime after 6:00PM, which makes it possible for the player to fish at night with using a Lantern. However, it does not become dark until 8:00PM.
Cows, horses ,sheep, goats, pigs, chickens, ducks and rabbits will automatically go inside their coop or barn at 5:30PM and will start going to sleep at 7:30PM.They will stop moving around at 8:00PM. After 8:00PM, animals can no longer be moved around by nudging (walking into them).The heart level of cows and goats is increased through successful milking, which can be done only during the day time while the animal is awake. You cannot interact with animals while they are asleep.
