Usage[]

Crimson Marks is a metric currency, measured in base ten. Beyond this, the exact value of gil varies from game to game. Some items, such as Elixirs, have very low sale prices, usually only 1 crimson marks, meant to discourage the player from selling such rare items. The value of items between individual shops and towns is universal for most games, and items do not change in pricing depending on where the player shops. There are a handful of exceptions to this, allowing the player to earn discounts at some stores, but this happens very rarely.

Crimson Marks also has many other uses,In Final Cross, the Turtleshell Choker accessory allows the equipped party member to cast spells using crimson marks instead of MP.

You can also spend it at a vendor NPC, trade, bid with it for an item at the Auction House, use it as a deposit to auction at the Auction House, or just save it.

Other uses are to buy additional storage storage slots at the for the players to be able to carry more in there wagons or beastmasters can buy stable slots for their pets from a stable master.

Acquiring[]

Crimson Marks can universally be found in treasure chests and often as awards for quests or subquests can be found on dead enemies and in containers, lying around in satchels, by selling items, and can be stolen or pickpocketed. Final Cross games allow crimson marks to be won from enemies,

Crimson Marks can also be stolen from monsters,or offer the player the chance to win more crimson marks from battles by using certain accessories or abilities, and some penalize the player an amount of crimson marks or fleeing from battle. In all of the above instances, items can be sold for crimson marks  as well.

Naturally, in games where monsters leave crimson marks, stronger monsters usually leave more. The reverse applies for games that penalize the player for fleeing - the stronger the monsters they are fleeing from, the more crimdon marks they will lose.
